Rhyl has changed a lot over the past 12 months including hosting some brilliant events such as the Air Show, K-Fest, Christmas Light Switch-On, and coupled with some great weather over the course of the year, this has led to some fantastic photo opportunities.

Working alongside Rhyl Tourist and Information Centre and local businesses*, this year we want to highlight some of YOUR favourite moments.

  • Take your photos or you might already have one you can use!

  • Submit your full-resolution digital photos by sending them to [email protected] Closing date is Sunday 15th March 2020.

  • Online voting! The top 5 photos will be chosen through online Facebook voting – the local community will decide!

  • Into Print! See you photo been used to produce a set of Rhyl postcards which will fly the flag for Rhyl for all to see!

Here are the rules

  1. All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party. The entrants must be the sole owner of copyright in all photographs entered and must have obtained permission of any people featured in the entries or their parents/guardians if children under 16 are featured. Further, entrants must not have breached any laws when taking their photographs.
  2. The photo must be taken in Rhyl, or of Rhyl (aerial shots, panoramas are accepted)
  3. The photos must have been taken in 2019 or 2020, as we want to highlight current changes and developments moving forward
  4. Entrants can submit up to five digital photos in colour or black and white.
  5. Images may be digitally enhanced.
  6. There is no age limit for the submissions as we want to encourage everyone to get involved and have pride in their town, but under 16s must have parental permission.
  7. All submissions will subject to an initial shortlisting to check quality/suitability for print and that they follow all rules. The final voting will take place on Facebook to determine the 5 five winners. Entrants can only have one photo in the top 5.
  8. Each entry should be marked with name, contact telephone number (both daytime and evening).
  9. The competition closes at midnight on Sunday 15th March 2020.
  10. Prior to submission, entrants must not have offered any of their entries for sale, been paid for any publication of any of their entries or won or been a runner up in any other photographic competition with any of their entries.
  11. Entrants will retain copyright in the photographs that they submit to the Rhyl BID. By entering the competition all entrants grant to Rhyl BID the right to publish and exhibit their photographs including on the Rhyl BID website and social media channels.
  12. Entrants whose photographs are one of the Finalists or selected to appear on one of the postcards pursuant to paragraph 11 above grant to Rhyl BID further rights to publish and exhibit their photographs in print, on their respective websites or in any other media. No fees will be payable for any of the above uses. Entrants whose photographs are one of the Finalists also agree to take part in post-competition publicity. While we make every effort to credit photographers, including in printed reproductions of their work, we cannot guarantee that every broadcast use of the photographs will include the photographers’ names.
  13. By entering, entrants will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these rules and Rhyl BID reserves the right to exclude any entry from the competition at any time and in its absolute discretion if Rhyl BID has reason to believe that an entrant has breached these rules.
  14. Rhyl BID reserves the right to cancel this competition or alter any of the rules at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control.
  15. If the winner is unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made; Rhyl BID reserves the right to either offer the accolade to a runner up.

These rules are governed by the laws of England and Wales. This competition is administered by Rhyl BID.
